You can see lots of stars from my house at night. Last night was a good one for that. The photo doesn’t do it justice, but it’s the best I could do with the 15 second max shutter on this camera. Don’t short-change yourself and miss the larger versions. Anyone remember that song by Hum?

This is from a photograph of a painting. It was weird to start with. I gave him a smile so he seemed more friendly, but I don’t know if he does of course it does. I should have left the ears untouched. Maybe I’ll redo it later. The ears are now original. You can see the original photograph: here.

They finished mixing the album last night in Carrboro. I think it is being shipped for pressing as I type. Now when is that release party going to be? How long before they get signed? How long before that just happens?

Not Even Stevie Nicks - Calexico - Cat’s Cradle - Carrboro NC
It is often said by friends of mine that the people in the Carrboro scene aren’t dancers. I’m not personally offended by this. I’m often one of them. Anyway, this happened to be one of those crowds. My friend decided to heckle them (the crowd) during a quiet spot at the end of this track. I’m not sure if the band understood that he meant the crowd, but he got the band’s attention (and everyone else). I was a little embarrassed, but I knew what he meant. The crowd wasn’t very energized (at the moment). I think he said what he meant to say there at the end right before the Calexico kicked into House of Valparaiso.
dude: What’s wrong with these people?
band: Oh! What’s that?
dude: What’s wrong with these people. Move on.
band: There are people here. You’re not alone.
dude: Move to the music!
I had a good laugh about it once I heard it on this recording. Carrboro hipsters: be careful lest you be moved by the crowd heckler!
