The Haunting
The major motion picture by the same name sucks. This is one minute and twenty seconds of funny. YouTube videos often start out funny but they fail because they go way too long. This one is just right.
No commentsMeet Jack Torrence
My brother already said I was going to be that weird old guy with a bunch of pets. I told him I already was. I went to the Chatham County Animal Shelter yesterday during lunch to see if they had a good buddy for Gus. I kept hearing from my cat owning friends that two are better than one - fewer behavior problems, less boredom at night, more pelts for making cat hats, etc.
So now I have Jack Torrence ala The Shining. I should name him Balls because he has no fear of anything, including Maggie. He pretty much owned the house within 20 minutes. He and Gus started romping around like thugs straight away and it hasn’t slowed. So if you’re keeping score - that’s one dog, two cats, and one weird old guy (thanks Jacob).

Yep, his name is now Gus. Quite.

Maggie is a great dog. She generally gets along with other dogs, but there’s no guarantee. I had no idea how she’d react to a kitten. My own mother nearly threw us out on the street while we were visiting for Christmas after Maggie incessantly chased her cat Winston. Winston is a puss, but anyway. Maggie is 100% terrier. If it’s small and runs, then she must be supposed to catch it and maybe even kill it. So far, always with supervision, she hasn’t eaten the thing. She also hasn’t disowned me for bringing it home. I’ve made it seem like a present for her. “This is your cat maggie. If you start chewing it up, I’m going to take it away. If you eat him, you won’t get another.” So far that’s working and she treats him like a brother. If something goes wrong, I hope maggie doesn’t throw it up on my pillow.

In my effort to categorize every post I’ve ever published, I screwed stuff up. Wordpress defaults to the visual WYSIWYG editor. Short story is that it hosed the markup of all the embedded video posts. That sucks, but I went through and fixed them. Something else came to mind while I worked that out. All the intra-blog links will take you back to the blogger articles. That’s too bad because I’m not going hunting for them. Time to move forward.
No commentsA Shift
If you read my old blog, you got the post about the move. This theme is temporary until I finish my own. I am a web developer after all. Anyway, this runs on Wordpress. It suits my needs better. I will be working to categorize my posts better and on some other new features that should make for easier surfing of my junk - ew…

Where’s that pizza already?, originally uploaded by michael rupert.
Also, what’s his name already? Yesterday I was close to calling him The Dude ala The Big Lebowski. That would work much better if I also had a Walter and a Donny, and I’m not about to. Not to mention the rug I would need to tie his room together too. STFU Donny!
