Change Is In The Air

Change is in the air

I realize it's been quite a long time since I've posted anything. There are many reasons for that, but everything is going really well. Lots of change going on in my world; I'll post a full update in a couple days. For every season...

Fun in the yard with a spring pole

I made what's called a spring pole for the dogs to tug on in the yard. It consists of a garage door spring, rope, and some carabiners. They love it, and it gives them a good way to burn energy. We also put the harnesses on Eko and Dottie today and they took turns pulling Libby on the skateboard while I led with the leash. It was lots of fun, but hard to capture with a camera. I'll have to rig something with the iPhone for next time.

The New Game

Poca goes up to grab the Kong

For a while there, Poca figured out she could easily clear the gate and go for a run around the house if she wanted. This happened twice, but I was lucky enough to capture her quickly. I never leave them unsupervised outside. We worked on recall skills, added some outdoor toys, and kept treats ready as rewards. Poca is a smart girl, and she figured out that there's more fun in the yard than on the other side of the fence. A little extra walking helps too. I'm back to trusting her off leash for quick trips outside to take care of business, and now there's a new game to play.

Some Dog Shots

4/52 Weeks of Eko

I enjoyed the weather this weekend, and so did the dogs. We spent lots of time outside. Here are a few shots. Eko posed on a boulder in front of Chatham Mills for his fourth installment for 52 weeks of Eko. After the jump, Dottie takes flight after the Kong Wubba in the tree branch, and Poca shows off her big pink grin.

Sarah Shook & The Devil - 1st Sunday

I got to catch Sarah Shook & The Devil playing First Sunday in downtown Pittsboro. I didn't plan to shoot video. It's shaky, but it sounds really good coming from the camera's internal mic. I love her voice, and it shines in this song. Great playing from Jon, Eric, and Phil as usual. PBO has some talented musicians. I think I'll bring a tripod next time.
