More proof that Gus is really a dog

You can't stage this stuff. This is any day at the house. So if you count Gus, we have 4 dogs. It's as if he's holding court. The dogs certainly don't mind. Cat surrounded by pit bulls miraculously survives (every day)!

Carolina DockDogs

I just discovered Carolina DockDogs is right in my backyard, well Sanford. That's pretty darn close to Pittsboro. They're having a huge event in Cherokee this weekend. I really want to go, but I don't think I'll make it. If Dottie has a special purpose, I hope it's this. She's got the kind of drive that makes you crazy at home, but I could see her really competing in this. Membership includes free practice sessions at home dock (in Sanford), professional one on one sessions if requested.

500px.com - Flickr's First Real Competition?

I recently discovered the new photo sharing site 500px.com, and I have to say that I'm really impressed. It's difficult to reinvent the wheel, but for the first time I think there's something to rival yahoo owned, flickr. I'll continue to use flickr for everyday shots. 500px will be where only my best work goes.

See the Light

It's all about the light. It helps to have a pretty model, too. I used the spot meter on the camera, converted to black and white in Lightroom, and used a little Unsharp Mask in Photoshop for a more dramatic result.
