The New Game

Poca goes up to grab the Kong

For a while there, Poca figured out she could easily clear the gate and go for a run around the house if she wanted. This happened twice, but I was lucky enough to capture her quickly. I never leave them unsupervised outside. We worked on recall skills, added some outdoor toys, and kept treats ready as rewards. Poca is a smart girl, and she figured out that there's more fun in the yard than on the other side of the fence. A little extra walking helps too. I'm back to trusting her off leash for quick trips outside to take care of business, and now there's a new game to play.

It started with Dottie, but Poca caught on fast. I started low with Poca to build up her confidence. Now she can grab the Kong Wubba out of the tree as high as I can place it without a ladder. Eko is not so vertically inclined. He prefers to let the girls do the hard work. He's more into a sofisticated game of fetch, anyway. I need to come up with more challenges for them. They really love it, and it's a blast to watch them work.
